Q & A

Should I rest if my heel hurts from running?
It depends who you ask! But in general taking a break from jogging will assist in lowering your fascia's thickness or inflammation, which will lessen your pain. You can resume running once your symptoms have subsided, but you should go slowly at first because going back to long runs or intense speed training too soon could reactivate your injury. Resting could be the difference between a temporary case of plantar fasciitis and a chronic injury, which can be aggravating.
